Overview
After installing Attributes User Access Pro, you must activate your license to unlock premium features. This guide walks you through the complete activation process, troubleshooting common issues, and managing your license.
Step 1: Obtain Your License Key
Your license key is a unique 32-character alphanumeric string that looks like this:

Method 1: Purchase Confirmation Email
- Check your email inbox
– Subject: “Attributes User Access Pro – Purchase Confirmation”
– Sent from: support@attributeswp.com
- Locate the license key section
– Usually in the middle of the email
– Labeled: “Your License Key”
– Copy the complete key
Method 2: Account Dashboard
- Log in to attributeswp.com
– Go to https://attributeswp.com/my-account/
– Enter your email and password
- Navigate to Licenses
– Click My Account in top menu
– Select Licenses from submenu
- Find your license
– All your licenses are listed
– Look for “Attributes User Access Pro”
– Click View License Key or similar button
- Copy the license key
– Use the “Copy” button
– Or manually select and copy (Ctrl+C / Cmd+C)

Step 2: Navigate to License Settings
- Log in to your WordPress admin
– Navigate to yourdomain.com/wp-admin
- Go to plugin settings
- Click Settings in the left sidebar
- Click Attributes Access
- Click the License tab
- Should be at the top of the settings page
- Other tabs: General, Security, etc.

Step 3: Enter and Activate License

You'll see these sections:

Activation Process
- Paste your license key
- Click in the "License Key" field
- Paste the key (Ctrl+V / Cmd+V)
- Important: Ensure no extra spaces before or after
- Click "Activate License" button
- Button becomes enabled after entering key
- Processing takes 2-5 seconds
- Connects to license server at attributeswp.com
- Wait for confirmation
- Don't click the button multiple times
- Don't navigate away during activation

Step 4: Verify Activation Success
After successful activation, the page will refresh and show:
Active License Status
✅ License Active! Your license has been successfully activated.
License Information Display

Managing Your License
Deactivating a License
When to deactivate:
- Moving to a different domain
- Switching to a new server
- No longer using the plugin on a site
- Testing on staging then moving to production
How to deactivate:
- Go to License settings
- Settings > Attributes Access > License
- Click "Deactivate License" button
- Located below license information
- Confirms deactivation
- Activation slot freed
- Now available for use on another site
- Can reactivate on same site later if needed
Checking License Status
When to check:
- Regular monthly maintenance
- Before renewing
- When features stop working
- After site migration
How to check:
- In WordPress: Settings > Attributes Access > License
- Or on attributeswp.com: My Account > Licenses
- Look for:
- Active status (green)
- Expiration date
- Remaining activations
Renewing Your License
Licenses expire after one year. Here's what happens:
30 Days Before Expiration:
- Receive renewal reminder email
- Discount code for early renewal
- License still fully functional
On Expiration Date:
- Pro features continue to work
- No more plugin updates
- No more support access
- Security updates unavailable
To Renew:
- Click Renew next to your license
- Complete payment
- License automatically extends for one year
- No need to re-enter key in WordPress
Troubleshooting License Activation
Error: "Invalid License Key"
Possible causes:
- Typo in the license key
- Extra spaces before/after key
- Wrong key copied
- Key not yet activated in system
Solutions:
- Check for typos:
- Compare key with email character by character
- Look for similar-looking characters (0 vs O, 1 vs l)
- Remove extra spaces:
- Clear the field completely
- Re-paste the key
- Ensure no spaces at start or end
- Copy key again:
- Go back to purchase email
- Copy key fresh from email
- Or retrieve from account dashboard
- Wait and retry:
- If just purchased, wait 5-10 minutes
- License system may need time to process
- Contact support:
- If still failing, contact support@attributeswp.com
- Provide order number and website URL
Error: "Maximum Activations Reached"
Cause: You've used all activation slots for your license type
Example: 3-Site license is already active on 3 websites
Solutions:
Option 1: Deactivate unused site
- Log in to one of the sites not needed
- Go to license settings
- Deactivate the license
- Activate on your current site
Option 2: Upgrade license
- Visit attributeswp.com
- Upgrade to a higher site count
- Pay the difference
- Continue activating sites
Option 3: Check for old activations
- Log in to attributeswp.com
- View license details
- Manually deactivate old/unused sites
- Try activation again
Error: "Connection Error"
Symptoms:
- "Could not connect to licensing server"
- Timeout errors
- Blank screen during activation
Possible causes:
- Server firewall blocking outbound connections
- cURL not installed or disabled
- DNS issues
- Attributeswp.com temporarily down
Solutions:
- Check cURL:
// Add to a test page or use plugins like "Server Info"
- Test connection:
- Try accessing attributeswp.com in browser
- From same server if possible
- Contact hosting:
- Ask to whitelist attributeswp.com
- Ensure outbound HTTPS connections allowed
- Port 443 must be open
- Try again later:
- May be temporary server issue
- Wait 30 minutes and retry
Error: "License Expired"
Cause: Your license has expired and needs renewal
What still works:
- ✅ All Pro features remain functional
- ✅ Plugin continues to work normally
What doesn't work:
- ❌ Plugin updates
- ❌ Priority support access
- ❌ Security patches
- ❌ New feature releases
Solution: Renew your license
- Visit attributeswp.com/my-account/
- Click Renew next to expired license
- Complete payment (usually at discounted rate)
- License automatically renews
- Updates and support restored
